Planning ahead for the busy moving season

Every year, millions of people will have to go through the process of finding a new home and moving. Often times, they are relocating for their job, with the vast majority moving during the summer months.

Summer is an ideal time for many employers to relocate employees because their kids are out of school, work schedules tend to be more flexible and weather conditions are favorable. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, about 33% of all annual inbound moves take place between June and August.

2015 Atlas Corporate Relocation Survey Results

Atlas Van Lines, a national moving company, recently released its highly anticipated 48th annual corporate relocation survey. The survey determines industry trends that can help relocation professionals make informed decisions about the development of new service options for their relocating employees.

Nearly 500 corporate relocation professionals were polled this year between January 20 and February 26. In response to the survey, 49 percent of firms saw relocation volumes increase in 2014 and roughly half expect volumes to increase further overall and internationally in 2015.
